I've heard some wonderful benefits to it and since I typically don't eat too much veggies and fruits, I figured I should try this. Not just for me, but for my family, too. After much review between Jack Lallane's and the Vitamix, hubby got me the BREVILLE IKON Multi Speed Juice Fountain at Bed Bath and Beyond. It was affordable, especially after coupon. We actually got this for practically free. We had gotten the Ninja Complete System and BED BATH and BEYOND said they would give us store credit for not having our receipt. So we didn't pay anything extra out of pocket. It was a fair exchange for an item that we didn't use so much for something we may use more, and benefit everyone in my family. Here's a video review of my first try. (Never mind... too long to upload it.. =) I'm a little giddy, cause I'm so excited, yet nervous, about using it. Hubby had me put it all together by myself without help... And, yes, I did it all by myself! I put all the ingredients in the juicer. I did the easy Fresth Start which started off with a couple of apples, carrots, and celery. I had Elijah try and it and he said it didn't taste like anything. I really wanted my daughter, Meishelle, to try it, but she was a bit occupied. My little princess, Myella, was just not in the mood to conversate with. Eh, so I tried it. I think I put too much carrots in it. So I added ice afterwards, lots of ice, and it tasted much better. I'm not much of a juice drinker nor do I eat enough veggies and fruits in a day, so this will take a little time to get used to. Overall, the Breville was easy to assemble from the box. I liked that I didn't have to screw or unscrew something. The product came with a book that had some recipes. I started with the basic fresh start juices - carrots, apples, and celery. The Breville has different settings to adjust the mode of squeezing the fruit - 3,2,1 (hard to softest churn). It said it has multiple settings for speed, so maybe I'm looking at this part wrong. It is a little loud for my sensitive ears, but tolerable. I was a little slow at putting the fruits in the juicer (which made my video a longer than it appears)... I just wanted to make sure I was careful not to cut myself or break anything. The end result was impressive. I got 25 oz of fresh squeezed juice and the remains of the veggies/fruits were fairly dry. I put the churned pieces on a paper napkin and the napkin stayed dry... YAY!!! That's a bonus. I didn't want to waste the leftovers, so I gave them to my Bubbles and Mushu (yorkies) as a healthy treat. They enjoyed it. Yes, it's safe to give your dogs veggies and fruits. Here's a site that may be helpful.... Trupanion.com. Cleaning took me the longest only because I wiped and dried each pieces and reassembled the Breville back together. Otherwise, it should take less than 5 minutes to rinse the parts and let it air dry. Amazon also has this product online and you can read more reviews about it here.
